Craigslist, you were on such a strong streak....

until this week... So, here are some CL gems

1. 10 month old colt - $75

I have a 10 month old Tennessee Walker/Paint colt. hes VERY gentle. he will eat sugar out of your hand. halter broke but not broke to lead. just needs someone with time!!! this will be a great looking horse. asking $75 OBO. if interested
Yes, eating sugar out of my hand is exactly what I consider gentle. Because crazy or wild horses won't do that either or anything. But in all honesty, what do they have against taking a whole body picture?

2. Stud

This stud goes back to some of the best cow horses of all time, such as Zan Parr Bar, Doc O'Lena and Freckles Playboy. He has nice head, big hip and is as laid back as they come. Check out his pedigree at www.allbreedpedigree.com. Stud fee - $300

Ad Type: At Stud Status: Available Name: SON OF A YOUNG GUN Breed: Quarter Horse  Gender: Stallion Color: Sorrel   Height: 15.00 hands  Temperament: 3 (1 - calm; 10 - spirited) Age: 16 yrs 11 mths

I sincerely hope that he's standing on a hill or something...because that back is funky even when it's not looking super screwed up. Maybe he's swaybacked? (I don't think I've ever said that in a hopeful way before...)

3. very gaited blk/wht at stud

15 hands and still growing as he is 3 years old. I don't think he knows how to trot. All he does is walk and gait. Gentle and should make really nice foals. First foals due soon.$200 and you supply the hay or buy some from me.

Okay. Let's just pause a moment here, what exactly would make that horse produce nice foals? Is it the insanely short neck? The straight shoulder? Unrefined throat latch leading to a huge head? (His coloring isn't doing it any favors either, but even knowing that it's making it look worse....) His pointy toes that scream- "I've probably been left to wear my own feet down!" The weak rump? The hot damn straight long back in the second picture? Oh, I bet I know! It's because he has spots, isn't it?!
Their other stallion at stud:

Standing at stud. Cremello stocky good minded stallion at stud. 14.3. $200 and you supply hay or you buy some from me

Unspectacular stallions that haven't done anything? Check. Sub-par conformation? Check. Sooper spechul and rare colors? Check. Now what do we have? Oh, oh, I know! Crazy color breeders!

4.  3 yr old Red Sorrel Gelding Horse - $200

3 Year Old Red Sorrel Gelding 15 to 16 hands and weighs around 800 lbs. Green Broke. NO DELIVERIES . Thank you.

Boy that's one short 16 hand horse... Now, doe it have one front leg or two? Thy're so close it's hard to tell...

5. Gaited Tennessee walker - $800

6year old gaited gelding Tennessee walker good All around horse. No bite bucks or kicks
Stands for Ferrari between 15/16 hands  Hadn't actually put stick on him.has current Coggins no bad habits has been rode by 12 year  Old girl on trail rides. Has had shoes we took Them off last month. Loads easy and catches With no problem Asking 800.00

Well now, I'd stand for a Ferrari too, my question is how exactly does it get in one? Does he just wait for it to be built around him because that is really impressive!

6. 8 yr old Geilding - Tennessee Walker - $795

Won Overall Gaited Buckle in 2012. $795.00

Well now, that is a placement for a saddle I haven't seen before. I didn't know shoulders were for riding! But really, if that won... I should really compete locally! They also have another horse listed:

7 yr old Mare - Tennessee Walker - $995 Won Overall Gaited Saddle in 2012. $995.00
I'd much rather have that one, and look, the saddle isn't even insane here! So you DO know how to put one on then... My question is, how big were these classes?

7. Bay gelding,9yrs old 14.1 hands,with saddle - $800

Buddy is a gentle quarter horse gelding, real easy to handle in every way.Sells with old 15 inch western saddle and all tack for $800. trade for hay or guns,

Oh yeah, you know you're in the south when.... someone is offering to trade their horse/pet for guns....

8. Free filly colts

Okay so this is a term that just drives me crazy. I hate it. Every freaking auction they use it. Well, is it a filly or is it a colt? Make up your damn mind. Or is it perhaps both in this scenario? We may never know....

9. Registered Sorrel Qtr Mare - $800

Raise some beautiful colts with this 26 yr old Sorrel mare or just go trail or pleasure riding. Has blaze face and stockings on hind legs.
The Ole Man and Three Bars on sire side. Has produced beautiful colt in the past. This mare has been in the family for years. We do not ride her anymore and someone could enjoy her and get some good colts.

Well folks, it appears it's time for the asshat ad of the day. You've had this mare for years, you're probably selling her because she's harder to get in foal and harder to keep in general. The state of the back says she's probably popped out a whole lot of babies for you and other people. She's 26 and hasn't earned a good retirement or being put down? Really?! The only nice thing I can say is that at least she's out of the KB's price range..... now backyard breeders on the other hand....  And seriously, Three Bars isn't exactly rare.

10. Royal Red Dandy/Paint Gelding - $750

I have a chestnut/overo paint gelding according to the papers but i would say he is sorrel. Foaling date- May 24 1999  I traded for this horse a couple of years ago but just havent found time to ride him much. He's a good horse and has never bucked, bit, kicked or done anything crazy other than not wanting to take his wormer one time.  I can show you the paper work where he sold for $2,000 in 2004 and then had $1,275 spent on training at Dry Creek Training. I"ll take $750 or trade for some good hay or might trade for some goats or a cow or calf/calves.

You can show me all the papers you want, but you aren't going to convince me that horse is worth $750 right now. From the look of him he's not wanted to take his wormer well more than once.... That horse is also pretty clearly a straight up chestnut like his papers say. Yikes, that back looks unpleasant as does that shoulder, bet his trot is wretched. Poor thing. He'd look a lot better fattened up...

11. 16 year old Tennessee walker - $300

16 year old Tennessee walker mare . Very broke for anyone! Needs some weight, but getting better every day! $300 OBO
A little weight? I sincerely hope you rescued her, then again that fence doesn't scream reassurances. That horse would look a whole lot worse without the fuzzy coat. Also she looks very back at the knee.

12. Horses For Sale, Standing Studs, Colt Strating

We have been in the horse business for over 40 yrs, we strive to make all our customers happy, we raise, breed, buy, train, sell, quarter and paint horses. We always have something here for sale, right now we are changing our breeding program so have more than usual up for grabs. We have coming yearlings, long yearlings, broodmares, studs, and some good riding geldings, and mares. We alos offer outside colt starting/breaking/ and training. We have 2 standing foundation bred stallions right now. For more info on us please go to our website  Thanks and God Bless

Okay, it wasn't *awful* until the picture with the baby.... That horse does not look happy and it certainly does not make me want to give you my business  Now in the picture with the boy riding, could your feet be any further in the stirrups? (Don't answer that) But do answer what is the point of the back cinch if it's both that loose and not connected to the front cinch?
